I have been going on missions trips to Jamaica since 1991. My first trip was one that I (and the men who were with me) would like to forget. I complained and hated it. I don’t like oceans or islands or hot humid weather and I let everyone know it. I left there vowing to never go back. Sounds real spiritual huh? God had plans for me. He took me out of my comfort zone to show me how selfish I was. 6 months after going on that trip God moved my heart and gave me a desire to go back, much to my surprise. I have been traveling there an average of 2 times a year ever since. I have developed some great relationships with Jamaicans that will last a lifetime and I have been blessed more than I ever could have imagined. The smiles of the students in the schools when I arrive are priceless. The love I feel from the teachers, administrators and pastors we have worked with is amazing. So, Why Jamaica? The real question should be why missions. To move us out of our comfort zone to obey the great commission to make disciples and serve others. Join us on our next trip to Jamaica!
