Matthew 4:23-5:1

“And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them. And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.

Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.”

GREAT CROWDS: which represented a broad spectrum of people and geography.

TEACHING: proclaiming the gospel and healing. Jesus met the needs of the people in every area of their lives: the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Jesus can heal the whole person. He is God. Nothing is too hard for Him. After all, He created us so he knows who to fix us.

HIS DISCIPLES: And then Jesus concentrated on the twelve men who were closest to him and “taught them…” Always the Teacher. The Teacher who loves and cares for those He has created. And, oh, what a Teacher he is! Nothing is beyond His understanding! Amazing!

Prayer: Father, this morning I want to thank you for Your Word which teaches all about you. Give me a love for learning about You. Give me an appetite for Your Word that is never satisfied. Thank you for always concentrating on me, never leaving me, and always teaching me. Thank you for meeting all of my needs personally and instructing me in Your ways of righteousness and healing me holistically. Praise be to You, Lord Jesus, my Savior, my King. Amen
