Outdoor Adventures

FAQ

Why the need?
  • Because our youth are losing their connection with creation/nature. Romans 1 :20 tells us that “since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
  • With the explosion of the digital world young people are no longer spending time in creation or with “what has been made.” So God’s attributes that should be “clearly seen” are quickly being dimmed.
  • Youth Challenge wants to meet this need by exposing our youth to God’s creation using outdoor adventures such as camping, backpacking, rock climbing, ATV’s, hunting, water sports and other challenging outdoor activities.
How do we hope to accomplish this?
  • We have and are continuing to develop relationships with other Christian ministries that specialize in these types of activities.
  • We are partnering with them to provide the expertise that is needed to provide quality and safe outdoor experiences.
What will be our focus?
  • To introduce students to “He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, he who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth – the LORD God Almighty is his name.” Amos 4:13
  • To challenge students to follow the Creator of the universe starting with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • To help them recognize their need for Him because “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 – Sin separates us from God.
  • To help them see that “by grace [they] have been saved, through faith – and this not from [themselves], it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
  • To challenge them to share with others ‘as they are going through life’ to “make disciples of all nations,” starting now. Matthew 28:18-20
How can you help?
  • Pray! Everything that Youth Challenge has been able to accomplish over the past 25+ years has been because of people praying. Would you commit to pray for Outdoor Adventures?
    • Pray for direction as we develop this ministry.
    • Pray for safety for students and staff while they experience these high adventure activities.
    • Pray for the funding of this ministry. As with all of the other activities that Youth Challenge does, we will never turn a student away because of finances. Pray that God supplies all of our needs according to His good and perfect will.
  • Give as God directs.
    • Financially
